Squash series starts on July 8

ISLAMABAD (July 5, 2021):-A series of 4 PSA Satellite Squash Tournaments for Men will be kicked off from July 8, 2021 at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad in the premises of Pakistan Sports Complex.
According to a spokesman for Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), all tournaments will be played under the banner of PSA (Professionals Squash Association), as each fixture will have prize money of US$ 1,000. The first tournament will start on July 8 and top national players will take part to show their maximum game skill to win the tournament.
The 1st Satellite event will be held on 08 – 09 July followed by 2nd event from 10 – 11 July, 3rd one from 12 – 13 July and the 4th event on 14 – 15 July, 2021. Squash series is aimed to provide an opportunity to the low ranking Pakistani players to raise their game standard and improve their world ranking by playing at home.
Squash Federation postpones international fixture

ISLAMABAD (May 12, 2021):-Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has postponed the Chief of the Air Staff-Serena Hotels International Squash Championship, which was scheduled to be played from May 31 to June 4, 2021 at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad.
According to an official of PSF, the event was to be held at Pakistan Sports Complex from May 31 to June 4, 2021. The championship has been postponed due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation around the world. Now, the tournament for men and women will now be held in the first week of August, 2021.
Pakistan to host Annual General Meeting of World Squash in November

ISLAMABAD (April 17, 2021):-Pakistan will host Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference of the World Squash Federation (WSF) this year 2021 in November at capital city Islamabad. The 5-day prestigious international event will be organized under the banner of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) in the collaboration with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Serena Hotels that will be commenced on November 24.
According to a spokesman for PSF, WSF president, Zena Wooldridge in her message said, “Pakistan has a rich heritage in squash with a host of former World No 1s and World Champions hailing from the nation, so it makes sense to start our second half-century of WSF AGMs there.” Stating Squash Legend Jehangir Khan as WSF ambassador she added that, “COVID-19 pandemic meant that we couldn’t meet face-to-face at our most recent AGM last November, so I look forward to catching up with our National Federations in person this time around.”
World Squash Federation’s decision came after vigorous efforts of Senior Vice President of Pakistan Squash Federation, Air Marshal Aamir Masood, who was pursuing the case for more than a year. Expressing his views at this occasion, Air Marshal Aamir Masood said, "I thank WSF Board of Directors especially, President Zena Wooldridge and Chief Executive Officer William Louis-Marie for their trust in Pakistan. Allocating this AGM to Pakistan is indeed considered a great recognition of our efforts as Pakistan has always contributed to squash and has a legacy of producing World Champions. I personally believe that this AGM will not only help the progression of squash both in Pakistan and in the region but also change the perception of participants about Pakistan."
He also praised the extraordinary support of Aziz Bolani Chief Executive Officer, Serena Hotels for stepping forward and offering his absolute support for hosting this event in their arena which reflected his love for the country and the game of squash.
PSF hopes that this event will help Pakistan in getting more international events and championships which will help the progression of squash to new heights. PSF also plans to conduct Chief of the Air Staff international for men and women in May followed by Asian Individual Championship for men and women in August this year. These events will be held in collaboration with Serena Hotels, Pakistan Sports Board.
National Juniors Squash Championship concludes
ISLAMABAD (December 19, 2020):-Noor Zaman has won the National Junior Squash Championship 2020 after beating Ashab Irfan in the Under-19 finals at Mushaf Squash Complex on Saturday.
In Boys Under-19 final, Noor Zaman from PAF beat Mohammad Ashab Irfan from Punjab with a game score of 4-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-7 and 11-7. The match lasted for 35 Minutes.
Earlier, in Boys Under-17 final, Mohammad Hamza Khan from PAF beat Huzaifa Zahid from KP with a game score of 11-3, 11-3 and 11-6. The match lasted for 13 Minutes.

National Junior Squash Championship 2020: Noor Zaman beats Hamza Sharif

ISLAMABAD (December 15, 2020):-Noor Zaman of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) defeated Hamza Sharif of Khyber Pakhtun Kawa (KPK) 3-1 in the Boy’s Singles Event of the National Junior Squash Championship 2020 at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad. The final score-line was 5-11, 11-9, 11-8 and 11-6, as the match lasted 32 minutes.
The top national junior squash showpiece is being played under the banner of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) for the teenager girls and boys. National Junior Squash Championship is a prize purse of Rs 500,000. The championship includes Boys U-13, U-15, U-17, U-19 along with Girls U-19 age groups.

International Squash, Tayyab Aslam and Madina Zafar win titles

ISLAMABAD (December 11, 2020):-Top seed Tayyab Aslam and Madina Zafar have won the titles of Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles of the Pakistan International Squash Tournament respectively after beating their challengers in the finals at Mushaf Squash Complex, in the premises of Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Friday.
In the Men Singles final, top seed Tayyab Aslam had to work hard to overcome his opponent Nasir Iqbal in a well-contested five games final. The final score-line was 11-7, 6-11, 3-11, 12-10 and 13-11. At one stage Nasir was leading in the match at 2-1 after first three games while the 4th game won by Tayyab 12-10 on tie-break. Final game was also crucial for the both player that also finished on tie-break, as no one was ready to let down. Both played displayed excellent skills of the squash, Tayyab made the mark after winning the final game. The match lasted for 68 minutes.
Earlier, in the women’s singles final, Madina Zafar defeated her sister Faiza Zafar 3-2. The final game score was 11-8, 11-1, 2-11, 7-11 and 11-9. The match lasted for 31 minutes. Squash Legend and Vice President of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), Qamar Zaman was chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed trophies and prizes to the final winning players.

International Squash Tournament: Tayyab and Nasir set to play final

ISLAMABAD (December 10, 2020):-Top seed Tayyab Aslam and second seed Nasir Iqbal set to meet in the final of the Pakistan International Squash Tournament after winning their semifinal fixtures of the Men’s Event at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad on Thursday.
In the 1st semifinal of men’s event, Tayyab Aslam outclassed Israr Ahmad in straight games 3-0 with the score-line of 11-4, 11-7 and 11-5, as the match wasted only 25 minutes. Later, in the second semifinal Nasir Iqbal beat Amaad Fareed in similar style 3-0 in 20 minutes. The final score-line was 11-4, 11-7 and 11-5.
In the women’s fixture, the 1st semifinal won by Madina Zafar. She overcame her opponent Amna Fayyaz 3-2 in a well-contested five game affair after 44 minutes competition. The final score-line was 10/12, 3/11, 11/9, 11/5 and 11/4. In the 2nd Semi Final Faiza Zafar beat Moqaddas Ashraf 3-0 in just 20 minutes at 11-8, 11-5 and 11-4.
Finals of both Men & Women events will be played on Friday (December 11, 2020) at same venue.

Pakistan International Squash Tournament reaches at semifinals stage

ISLAMABAD (December 9, 2020):-Tayyab Aslam, Israr Ahmed, Amaad Fareed and Nasir Iqbal qualified for the semifinals of ongoing the Pakistan International Squash Tournament after beating their respective opponents in the Men’s Event Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad on Wednesday.
Earlier, in the women’s singles event, Amna Fayyaz, Madina Zafar, Moqaddas and Faiza Zafar got the berth in the top-four stage after showing impressive performance in the quarterfinals, as all four matches were decided in straight games.
The semifinals of both Men and Women events will be played on December 10, 2020 at same venue.

International Squash Tournament from December 7, 2020

ISLAMABAD (December 4, 2020):-Pakistan International Squash Tournament for Men and Women will be kicked off from December 7, 2020 at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad in the premises of Pakistan Sports Complex.
According to Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), the Men Event carries the prize money of US$ 12,000 whereas Women Event US$ 6,000. Men event draw consist of 32 players and will start on December 7 while Women draw has 16 players and will commence on December 8, 2020.
Top four players in Men Event include Tayyab Aslam, Asim Khan, Farhan Mehboob and Amaad whereas Amna Fayyaz, Faiza Zafar, Madina Zafar and Moqaddas Ashraf are top four in Women event.
