Lahore Open Polo: Master Paints Black, Remington Pharma record wins
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE (December 19, 2022): Master Paints Black and Remington Pharma recorded contrasting victories in Coca-Cola Lahore Open Polo Championship 2022 matches played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Monday. The first match of the day saw majestic Manuel Carranza cracking a double hat-trick to guide Master Paints Black to a sparkling 10-6 success over Barry's/DS Polo in the first match of the day.  Besides a superb six-goal contribution from the hero of the day Carranza, phenomenal Syed Aun Mohammed Rizvi also played a key role in his team's triumph as he thrashed in two tremendous goals while Sufi Mohammad Haroon and Sufi Mohammad Amir converted one goal apiece from the winning side. On the other hand, Rulo Trotz played well for the losing team and contributed with an impressive hat-trick while Nafees Barry and Daniyal Sheikh slammed in two and one goal respectively. Barry’s/DS Polo started the match with a field goal but Master Paints Black made a strong comeback and thrashed in three back-to-back goals to take 3-1 lead by the end of the first chukker. The second chukker was evenly poised as both the teams banged in a brace each with Master Paints Black still enjoying 5-3 lead.  The third chukker saw the dominance of the Master Paints Black, who malleted three back-to-back goals against one by Barry’s/DS to stretch their lead to 8-4. The fourth and last chukker saw both the sides playing well and converting two goals each and by the end of the chukker, Master Paints had 10-6 lead, thus emerging as winners of the match. Jhon Fisher and Amirreza Behboudi officiated the match as field umpires.  Hamza Mawaz Khan’s heroics helped Remington Pharma edge out Platinum Homes by 8-7 in the thrilling second match of the day. The enthralling encounter was tied 7-7 at the end of fourth round, so it was decided in the sudden death chukker, where Ahmed Bilal Riaz smashed in the match-winning goal for Remington Pharma.  High-flying Hamza was in sublime form, and he played excellent polo and fired in with fabulous five goals while Ahmed Zubair Butt thrashed in two tremendous goals and Ahmed Bilal Riaz scored one goal for Remington Pharma.  Amirreza Behboudi of Iran was also in great form and displayed outstanding pony and mallet work. He skillfully converted superb six goals for Platinum Homes while Bilal Noon slammed in the remaining one but their efforts couldn’t bear the fruits for their side, which lost the crucial match by a margin of just one goal in the sudden death chukker.  Both the teams started the match on a high note and converted one goal apiece to make it 1-1. Just before the end of the first chukker, Remington Pharma converted one more to take a slight 2-1 lead. One goal each was score by both the sides to make it 3-2 in the second chukker while Platinum Homes played better polo in the third chukker, scoring two goals against one by Remington Pharma to equalize the score at 4-4.  Both the teams matched fire-with-fire in the highly-charged fourth chukker and managed to pump in three goals each to make it 7-7. No more goal was then scored by either team, thus the match was then decided in the sudden death chukker, where Ahmed Bilal Riaz was the man, who did magic with mallet and pony and hammered the match-winning goal for Remington Pharma that won the crucial encounter by 8-7. Jhon Fisher and Nicolas Ruiz Guinazu supervised the match as field umpires.

Lahore Polo: Salam Polo, Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo register win
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Salam Polo and Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel registered victories in the Coca-Cola Lahore Open Polo Championship 2022 matches here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Sunday.  Sensational Nocolas Ruiz Guinazu steered Salam Polo to an emphatic 8-4 victory over Zacky Farms/Kalabagh in the first match of the day. Guinazu played the hero’s role from Salam Polo by smashing in superb five goals while he was ably assisted by Hashim Kamal Agha, Raja Arslan Najeeb and Hamza Ali Hakeem – all converted one goal apiece. On the other hand, Raja Jalal Arsalan fired in all the four goals for Zacky Farms/Kalabagh.  Team Salam Polo dominated the match right from the word go as they cracked a classic quartet in the first chukker against one goal by Zacky Farms/Kalabagh to gain a healthy 4-1 lead. The second chukker was evenly poised as both the sides scored one goal apiece with Salam Polo still enjoying 5-2 lead.  The third chukker was fully dominated by Salam Polo team as they banged in a superb brace to further enhance their lead to 7-2 while in the fourth and last chukker, Salam Polo though struck one goal to further stretch their lead to 8-2 yet Zacky Farms/Kalabagh played better polo and thrashed in two back-to-back goals but it proved too little too late for them, as they lost the crucial match by 4-8. Jhon Fisher and Col Omer Minhas (R) officiated the match as field umpires. Nicolas Antinori excelled in Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel’s 8-6 triumph over Guard Rice in the second match of the day. Antinori stole the show from the winning side by displaying excellent mallet and pony skills and firing in five fantastic goals while his teammates Omar Asjad Malhi banged in a beautiful brace and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed struck one goal.  On the other hand, Taimur Ali Malik hammered a hat-trick while Saqib Khan Khakwani, Shaukat Ali Malik and Mohammad Ali Malik converted one goal apiece from Team Guard Rice. Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel were off to a flying start as they thrashed in three back-to-back goals to take 3-1 lead in the first chukker. Guard Rice made a good comeback in the second chukker, as they also hammered an impressive hat-trick to equalize the score at 3-3. Just before the end of the second chukker, Diamond Paints struck one goal to get back a slight 4-3 lead.  The third chukker was then saw the dominance of Diamond Paints as they cracked a classic quartet to take a huge lead of 8-3 while Guard Rice converted one to reduce the margin to 8-4. The fourth and last chukker was though dominated by Guard Rice as they added two more goals in their tally but it was too little too late as they lost the match by 6-8. Jhon Fisher and Manuel Carranza supervised the match as field umpires.

Lahore Open Polo: Marvelous Moreno mallets FG/Din Polo to a thumping win
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Marvelous mallet and polo pony work of Tomas Marin Moreno guided FG/Din Polo to a thumping 12-5 triumph over Remounts in the Coca-Cola Lahore Open Polo Championship 2022 only match played on Saturday here at Lahore Polo Club ground. Moreno was in sublime form and played excellent polo, smashing in superb seven goals from the winning side while Raffay Shaikh and Shah Shamyl Alam banged in a brace each and Mian Abbas Mukhtar converted one goal. From team Remounts, Raja Temur Nadeem hammered a hat-trick while Sawar Naeem and Haseeb Minhas struck one goal apiece.  Both the teams started the match well and matched fire-with-fire, equalizing the score at 2-2. Just before the end of the first chukker, Moreno successfully converted a 60-yard penalty to provide FG/Din a slight 3-2 lead. They dominated the second chukker fully by smashing in superb six goals to take a healthy 9-2 lead.  The third chukker was evenly poised as both the teams played superb polo and slammed in two goals each, with FG/Din Polo still enjoying 11-4 lead. The fourth and last chukker saw both the teams trying their best to score more but they could add just one goal each in their tally, thus FG/Din Polo emerging as winners with a margin of 12-5. Jhon Fisher and Manuel Carranza supervised the match as field umpires.

Lahore Open Polo: Newage Cables/MP, Master Paints Black triumphant
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Newage Cables/Master Paints and Master Paints Black emerged triumphant in the Coca-Cola Lahore Open Polo Championship 2022 matches here at the Lahore Polo Club on Friday.  Juan Cruz Greguol shone in the first match of the day as he hammered a double hat-trick in Newage Cables/Master Paints’ convincing 9-3 victory over Barry’s /DS Polo. Besides Juan Cruz Greguol’s heroics, Farooq Amin Sufi contributed with a beautiful brace and Adnan Jalil Azam converted one goal. Rulo Trotz thrashed in two goals and Usman Haye struck one for Barry’s/DS Polo. Newage Cables/Master Paints were off to a flying start as they cracked a classic quartet of goals to gain a 4-0 lead in the first chukker. Barry’s/DS Polo made a good comeback in the second chukker by banging in a brace to reduce the margin to 4-2. The third chukker was once again dominated by Newage/Master Paints as they hammered an impressive hat-trick to further enhance their lead to 7-2.  Barry’s/DS Polo started the fourth and last chukker well by converting a 30-yard penalty successfully that helped them reduce the margin to 7-3 but it was all that they could get from the match as Newage/Master Paints thrashed in two more goals to win the match by a huge margin of 9-3. Jhon Fisher and Nicolas Ruiz Guinazu supervised the match as field umpires. Manuel Carranza’s carnage carried the glory for Master Paints Black, who edged past Diamond Paints by a narrow margin of 7-6 in the second match of the day. Manuel Carranza did the magic with mallet and polo pony and fired in fabulous four goals for Master Paints Black while sensational Syed Aun Mohammad Rizvi slammed in a beautiful brace and Sufi Mohammad Amir converted one goal. Ahmed Ali Tawana pumped in four goals and Hamza Ejaz and Lt Col Umar Minhas (R) converted one goal apiece for Diamond Paints but their efforts proved futile in the end.  Master Paints Black dominated the match right from the word go as they fired in four fabulous goals to gain a healthy 4-0 lead. Diamond Paints made their presence felt just before the end of the first chukker by scoring a field goal to make it 4-1.  The only goal of the second chukker was also struck by Diamond Paints that helped them further reduce the margin to 4-2. Master Paints Black started the third chukker well by converting a 60-yard penalty to stretch their lead to 5-2 but Diamond Paints once again showed their class and converted two back-to-back goals to further reduce the deficit to 5-4.  The highly-charged fourth and last chukker saw both the sides matching fire-with-fire and then managed to score two goals each with Master Paints Black winning the thrilling encounter by a slight margin of 7-6. John Fisher and Agha Musa officiated the match as field umpires. Tomorrow (Sunday), three important matches will be played.

Lahore Open Polo: Diamond Paints, DG/Din win openers
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Diamond Paints and FG/Din Polo won the opening day matches of the Coca-Cola Lahore Open Polo Championship 2022 here at the Lahore Polo Club on Tuesday.  In the first match of the day, Diamond Paints team defeated Barry’s team by 8-5. Lt Col Omer Minhas (R) played hero’s role in Diamond Paints’ triumph as he fired in a fabulous four goals while his teammates Ahmed Ali Tiwana banged in a brace and Mir Shoaib Ahmed and substitute player Hamza Ejaz converted one goal apiece. From team Barry’s, Rulo Trotz smashed in four goals and Daniyal Sheikh struck one.  The second match of the day saw dominance of FG/Din Polo, who overpowered Remington Pharma team by a good margin of 9-4. Tomas Marin Moreno did the magic with mallet and polo pony and thrashed in three tremendous goals while he was also ably assisted by his teammates Shah Shamyl Alam, Mian Abbas Mukhtar and Raffay Shaikh, who hammered a brace each from the winning side. For Remington Pharma, all the four goals were converted by Hamza Mawaz Khan. A good number of polo enthusiasts, including Lahore Polo Club executive committee members, players and their families, were present on the occasion to witness the exciting matches at the historic Lahore Polo Club ground. The prestigious event is being conducted by Lahore Polo Club with the support of Coca-Cola while the co-sponsors are Century Ventures Limited.  Two more matches will be played today (Wednesday), Guard Rice will take on Salam Polo in the first match of the day at 1:30 pm while Newage Cables/Master Paints will vie against Master Paints Black in the second match of the day at 2:30 pm.

Corps Commander Polo Cup: Remington Pharma clinch trophy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE (December 11, 2022): Remington Pharma edged past Master Paints Black by a narrow margin of 4½-4 in the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Paints main final played here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday.  A large number of spectators were present on the occasion to enjoy the pleasant weather as well as the enthralling and exciting main final here at the Jinnah Polo Fields. CEO of Diamond Paints Mir Shoaib Ahmed, Director Mir Huzaifa Ahmed, Mir Khuzaima Ahmed, Club President Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R), Secretary Major Babar Mehboob Awan (R) and players, their families and polo enthusiasts.  Master Paints Black started the match having a half -goal handicap advantage and dominated the first three chukkers in great style but Remington Pharma then made a strong comeback in the dying moments of the third chukker and the fourth and last chukker to take a slight half-goal lead that helped them win the crucial match by 4½-4.  From Remington Pharma, Basel Faisal Khokhar pumped in the winning goal while Ahmed Zubair Butt banged in a beautiful brace and Ahmed Bilal Riaz contributed with one goal. From Master Paints Black, Manuel Carranza though played superb polo and hammered a hat-trick and Sufi Mohammad Haroon struck one goal yet their efforts proved fruitless in the end, as their side lost the final by just a half-goal margin. Talking to media after registering the title triumph, Basel Faisal Khokhar, Captain of Remington Pharma, said: “The team worked very hard for this prestigious event and managed to earn a place in the main final. Although we faced tough resistance from Master Paints Black in the final, yet we remained firm and played like a unit that helped us win the coveted trophy. This polo season is moving towards its peak and we will try to record more title victories in this season.” Earlier, the subsidiary final between Remounts and Master Paints/Newage Cables also proved a nail-biting encounter and after a tough fight, Remounts emerged as winners by a close margin of 9-8½.

Manuel Carranza was the hero from the winning side as he displayed outstanding polo skills and techniques and contributed with superb six goals. Substitute player Agha Musa Ali Khan also played well and banged in a beautiful brace. Tomas Marin Moreno played well by smashing in six goals and Farhad Mohammad Shaikh converted one for FG/Din Polo, which had a half goal handicap advantage.  The second semifinal of the day also proved a thrilling encounter where Remington Pharma faced tough fight from their opponents – Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel – before winning the crucial match 6½-6. The winning team started the match having a half goal handicap advantage. Polo Cup: FG/Din, Remington Pharma qualify for semifinals
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: FG/Din Polo and Remington Pharma qualified for the semifinals by winning their respective matches played on the eighth day of the Corps Commander Polo Cup sponsored by Diamond Pants here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Tuesday.  The most exciting match of the day was played between Remington Pharma and Remounts and after a tough contest, Remington Pharma won the thriller by 11½-10 goals. The Remounts team was enjoying an 8-2 lead by the end of the second chukker but Hamza Mawaz Khan then made the difference and turned the tables of the match in the next two chukker. Hamza continued to score goals one after another and by the end of the match, his superb six-goal contribution steered his side to a close 11½-10 triumph. Ahmed Zubair Butt and Ahmed Bilal Riaz also played key roles in their team’s success as they pumped in four and one goal for Remington Pharma, which had a half goals handicap advantage.  On the other hand, Remounts players also kept on fighting till the end, but their efforts couldn’t bear fruit for their side, which lost the crucial match. Raja Temur Nadeem top-scored for Remounts with fabulous five goals while Muhammad Naeem hammered a hat-trick of goals and Major Haseeb Minhas (R) banged in a brace.   Meanwhile, FG/Din Polo defeated Salam Polo team by 9-3 to qualify for the semifinals. Mian Abbas Mukhtar and Tomas Marin Moreno emerged as hero of the day for the winning side as they fired in fabulous four goals each while Shah Shamyl Alam converted one goal. Rulo Trotz scored all the three goals for Salam Polo.   Earlier, Master Paints/Newage Cables edged past DS Polo/Barry’s by a narrow margin of 9½-9. PAF Whites win the title of CAS Challenge Cup Polo Tournament
Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Whites have won the 31st Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Challenge Cup Polo Tournament Trophy by defeating PAF Blues with 5-1/2 to 5 goals in the final at the lush green Islamabad Polo Club. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, who was the chief guest, gave away prizes to players and awarded CAS challenge polo cup trophy to the winning team. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the winners and appreciated the club management for the successful conduct of the event. He also emphasized the significance of sports for improving the youth’s psychomotor skills and physical health. The PAF Sports Control Committee in collaboration with the Islamabad Polo Club organised the 31st CAS Challenge Cup Polo Tournament-2022.

In the first match of the day, FG/Din Polo beat Master Paints/Newage Cables by 7-5½. Tomas Marin Moreno played hero’s role in FG/Din Polo’s victory by firing in fabulous four goals while Mian Abbas Mukhtar banged in a beautiful brace and Shah Shamyl Alam and Rafi Shaikh scored one goal each.  The players of Master Paints/Newage Cables also fought well against their opponents but they couldn’t finish the crucial match and lost it by 5½-7. Hamza Mawaz Khan’s clinical performance guided Remington Pharma to a thumping 10½-5 triumph over Team Diamond Paints in the third and final match of the day. Hamza was in sublime form and amused the spectators with his magical mallet and pony work as he hammered excellent nine goals for Remington Pharma while Ahmed Bilal Riaz struck the remaining one for the winning side, which had the handicap advantage of a half goal. Abdul Rehman Monnoo hammered a hat-trick and Lt Col Omer Minhas banged in a brace for Diamond Paints.
