World Blind Cricket elects Syed Sultan Shah its new president
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (November 28, 2020):-The World Blind Cricket (WBC) on Saturday elected Syed Sultan Shah its new president for the next tenure of 2-year in the 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was conducted through video link due to COVID-19. The elections of the Executive Committee of World Blind Cricket were also held during the AGM. The representatives of ten full member countries participated in the meeting. Syed Sultan Shah has been elected unopposed as the President of WBCL for the term of next two years. The newly elected Executive Committee of World Blind Cricket Ltd comprises of the following, Syed Sultan Shah, who is the Chairman of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, remained the President of World Blind Cricket twice earlier from 2012-2014 and 2014-2016. This will be his 3rd term in this premiere role. The General Manager of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council Maher Yousaf Haroon has been elected for the 4th consecutive time for the position of “Director Technical” World Blind Cricket. The 5-day blind women’s training camp concludes
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (November 10, 2020):-The five-day training camp for the Blind Women’s cricket concluded on Tuesday here at Shalimar Cricket Ground, as the Australian High Commission had sponsored this camp in collaboration with the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) from November 5 to 10, 2020. Speaking at the award-giving ceremony at the conclusion of the training today, the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Geoffrey Shaw shared that Australia’s support aims to provide more women and girls with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy sport, compete and demonstrate their ability. “Sport can help reduce gender stereotypes and negative perceptions associated with people with disabilities. Australia and Pakistan share a passion for cricket, so we are happy to support the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council’s efforts to bring women and girls living with disabilities into the sport,” Dr Shaw added. The Chairman of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Syed Sultan Shah, said, “Cricket for the blind is a highly competitive game which enables people with visual impairment to become people of vision – a vision of an accessible future full of exciting opportunities for all.” It is important to mention here that the two blind factory workers invented blind cricket in Melbourne, Australia, in 1922 when they improvised the game using a tin can containing rocks. A few years later, in 1928, the first sports ground and clubhouse for blind cricket was built at Kooyong in Melbourne.

KPK lift the Blind Cricket Super League Trophy
ABDUL JABBAR FAISAL ISLAMABAD (October 24, 2020):-Khyber Pakhtun Kawa (KPK) overcame Islamabad by 35 runs in the final of A.S. Ali Blind Cricket Super League 2020 at Dring Stadium Ground-1 Bahawalpur in 40 over per innings competition. KPK won the toss for fifth time in a row in this league and decided to bat first. Haroon Khan and Mohammad Akram opened the innings for KPK. Previous day match centurion Haroon Khan was bowled cheaply, as he could score only 8 runs. Asif Khan was also dismissed without scoring a run. Mohammad Akram and Mohammad Akmal then built the innings and knitted the partnership of 71 runs for 3rd wicket. Mohammad Akram ran out, as he made 73 runs off 52 balls. Tehseen did not stay at crease long. Then Naemat Ullah joined Akmal and rescued KPK innings. KPK made 283 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 40 overs. Naemat Ullah was the top scorer with 79 runs and Muhammad Akmal scored 73. Israr-ul-Hasan was the successful bowler for Islamabad by taking 2 wickets. Matiullah, Sajid and Amir claimed a wicket apiece. In reply, Islamabad started cautiously and kept the wickets intact to accelerate later rate, but in the middle overs KPK fought back and took crucial wickets of Nisar Ali, Mohammad Rashid, Amir Ishfaq and Maitullah. Nisar Ali made 87 runs and Matiuallh scored 57 runs. Islamabad in allotted 40 overs scored just 248 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Haroon Khan claimed 3 big wickets and Mohammad Akram took 2 wickets. Blind Cricket Super League: KPK and Islamabad storm into the final
SPORTS NEWS ISLAMABAD (October 22, 2020):-Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtun Kawa (KPK) stormed into the final of A. S. Ali Blind Cricket Super League 2020 that played at Dring Stadium Ground-II today at Bahawalpur. Islamabad defeated Punjab while KPK beat Balochistn. Match No. 9: KPK Vs Balochistan: (Venue: Dring Stadium, Ground No. 2 Bahawalpur) Today’s 1st Match of the event was played between KPK and Balochistan. It was to do or die situation for KPK, to win and with a big margin to stay in the contention of the Final. KPK won the toss and decided to bat first. KPK scored mammoth 346 runs in stipulated 40 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Haroon Khan played outstanding innings of 112 runs and Muhammad Akram made 66 runs. Badar Munir, Ehtisham, Haroon and Kazim claimed a wicket apiece. The target of 347 runs proved too much for Balochistan and they were restricted to mere 270 runs in allotted 40 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Muhammad Ejaz made 68 runs and Badar Muneer scored 60 runs. Mohsin Khan Khan took 3 wickets while Muhammad Ayyaz fetched 2 wickets.  Result: KPK won by 76 runs Man of the Match: Haroon Khan Match No 10: Punjab Vs Islamabad (Venue: Dring Stadium, Ground No. 1 Bahawalpur)) Event’s last league match was played between Punjab and Islamabad. Punjab won the toss and decided to bat first Islamabad bowled well and didn’t allow Punjab Batsmen to play freely. Punjab scored par score of 250 runs by losing 8 wickets in allotted 40 overs. Iftikahr Tiger was the top scorer for his side with unbeaten 65* runs and Sanaullah chipped in with 46 runs. Amir Ashfaq and Anees Javed took 1 wicket each. Islamabad in reply chased a total of 250 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in just 36.4 overs. Amir Ashfaq shined with the bat, he made 72 runs. Punjab and Sindh record wins in Blind Cricket Super League
SPORTS REPORT ISLAMABAD (October 19, 2020):-Punjab and Sindh registered their victories in the Blind Cricket Super League 2020 after beating Khyber Pakhtun Kawa (KPK) and Balochistan respectively at Ding Stadium Bahawalpur on Monday. Match No. 3 KPK Vs Punjab: (Venue: Dring Stadium, Ground No. 2 Bahawalpur) 3rd Match of the event was played between KPK and Punjab. KPK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Punjab with the help of calculated innings of Moeen Aslam and Zafar Iqbal defeated KPK by 61 runs. Moeen Aslam scored 68 runs and Zafar Iqbal made 48 runs for their team. Punjab posted a competitive total of 275 runs for loss of 9 wickets in allotted 40 overs. Mohsin, Haroon, Akram and Ayyaz took 1 wicket each. KPK, in reply, couldn't reach the target of 275 and they were bowled out on 214 runs in 34 overs.  Mohammad Tehseen was the only batsman to resist, he scored 60 runs. Shahzeb Haider and Haseen Ullah took 2 wickets each while Zafar Iqbal grabed 1 wicket. Result: Punjab won by 61 runs Man of the Match: Zafar Iqbal Match No. 4 Balochistan  Vs Sindh: (Venue: Dring Stadium, Ground No. 1 Bahawalpur) Sindh won the toss and put Balochistan into bat. Balochistan scored 256 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 40 overs. Badar Munir was the top scorer with 77 runs. Babar Ali claimed 2 wickets. Sindh reached the target of 257 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 32.5 overs. Babar Ali and Raisat Khan made 82 and 70 runs respectively for Sindh. Badar Muneer claimed 1 wicket for Balochistan. Peshawar claim the title of 28th KPK National Sports Festival
SB REPORT PEHAWAR (September 27, 2020):-Hosts Peshawar on Sunday beat Islamabad by 25 runs in the final of T-20 Blind Cricket Tournament of 28th KPK National Sports Festival 2020 here at Islamia College University Cricket Ground. In the morning, Islamabad won the toss and decided to field first. Peshawar, which remained unbeaten in the league stage by winning all three games, batted beautifully and piled up 187 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Shafiullah 40, Haroon khan 36 and Sana Ullah 40 were their leading run getters. Islamabad in replay were restricted to 162 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.  Faizan khatak and Anees Javed were amongst top runs by scoring 45 and 37 runs respectively.  For Peshawar, Haroon Khan and Mohammad Asif took 2 wickets each. Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Bilal Satti Director Marketing PBCC and Habibullah Khan Director Rehab PBCC were the guests of the occasion and distributed prizes. The event was played from 24th to 27th September 2020 at Peshawar that was hosted by Peshawar Cricket Club of the Blind with the support of KPK Sports Board. Four Team, Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and Attock took part in this event.

Blind Cricket: Sindh and KPK wins their matches
SB News KARACHI (February 13, 2020):-Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoon Kawa (KPK) have won their match in the Blind Cricket Super League One Day Tournament at two different venues of Karachi City. Islamabad Vs KPK: (Venue: Rashid Latif Cricket Academy, Karachi) Islamabad won the toss and decided to bat first. Riding on the tons of Mohammad Safdar 112 off 61 balls featuring 13 (4’s) and 1 six and Mohammad Rashid’s 103 off 56 balls with the help of 17 boundaries, Islamabad made mammoth 440 for 7 runs. Anees Javed also played exceptionally well for his 95 runs off 60 balls, missed his century just by mere 5 runs. For KPK Riasat Khan took 2 wickets while Matiullah, Abdul Rasheed, Mohammad Akram and Mohammad Ali claimed a wicket a piece. The target of 441 runs, apparently an unsurmountable task, made easy by the veterans Mohammad Akram and Tahir Ali. Mohammad Akram played another gem of an innings, he got out after scoring 211 runs off 93 balls featuring 37 boundaries. Tahir Ali kept his head cool after the departure of Mohammad Akam and took his team home with unbeaten 78 runs. KPK chased the target in 37.4 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Ahtesham, Safdar, Idrees and Kamran shared a wicket each. Result: KPK won by 4 wickets Man of the Match: Mohammad Akram ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Balochistan Vs Sindh (Venue: PAF Faisal Airbase Ground) Event’s 8th match was played between Balochistan and Sindh. Sindh outplayed rocking Balochistan by 78 runs. Sindh batted first after winning toss and made huge total of 428 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 40 overs. Sanauallah played an incredible knock of unbeaten 235 runs off 132 balls, he hit 29 boundaries and 3 big sixes. Two double centuries were scored today, each in both matches. Sanauallah became the first to score double ton in this event. For Sindh the 2nd highest scorer was Shahzaib Hyder, he made 52 runs not out. Sajid Nawaz was the only successful bowler for Balochistan, he took 2 wickets. Balochitsan in reply lost early wickets, Akmal Hayyat, Badar Munir and Sajid Nawaz fell cheaply. Shahzaib Hayder with deadly bowling ran through the batting order of Balochistan, he took 4 wickets. Balochistan was in deep trouble as half of their side was sent back to pavilion at the score of 73 runs. Thereafter, Mohammad Usman and Mohammad Arsalan rescued the sinking ship and together knitted 233 runs partnership for 6th wicket, but wasn’t enough to reach the uphill target. Mohammad Usman made 129 runs off 81 balls and Mohammad Arsalan scored unbeaten 89 runs. Balochistan made 350 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 40 overs. Blind Cricket: Balochistan and Islamabad claim wins
SB News KARACHI (February 11, 2020):-Balochistan and Islamabad defeated their opponent teams in the 3rd PPL (One-day) Blind Cricket Super League 2020 in Karachi on Tuesday. Day-2 Match No 1: KPK Vs Balochistan: (Venue: Rashid Latif Cricket Academy, Karachi) In the morning, Balochistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. KPK got off to the flying start, its first wicket fell in the shape of Matiullah at the score of 117 runs in 12th over, Matiuallh scored 47 runs. Tahir Ali 85 off 59 balls, Riasat Khan’s 62 off 38 balls and Muhammad Akram’s 49 runs off 28 balls kept accelerating the run rate and remained more than 10 runs per over till 28th over of the innings. After their departure, Balochistan squeezed KPK run rate and restricted them to 371 runs all out in 39.3 overs. Badar Munir took 3 wickets for 80 runs in 8 overs and Shafiullah was bit more expensive, he took 2 wickets by giving away 102 runs in 8 overs. Balochistan Captain, Badar Munir opened the innings with Akmal Hayat. Akmal couldn’t excel and was bowled by Muhammad Ijaz after scoring 8 runs. Sajid Nawaz was dismissed after scoring 20 runs. But Badar played splendidly and his 63 balls 121 runs innings, featuring 19 (4’s) and 1 six took the score of his team to 218 runs in 19.3 overs. Thereafter, Safiuallah’s 104 runs innings and Ayub Khan’s watchful 42 runs not out enabled his team to cross the line with 32 balls to spare. Balochitsan won the game in 35th over for the loss of 4 wickets. Matiullah and Muhammad Ijaz were the only bowlers to take a wicket each. Result: Balochistan won by 6 wickets Man of the Match: Badar Munir Day-2 Match-2: Punjab Vs Islamabad (Venue: PAF Faisal Airbase Ground, Karachi) Punjab decided to bat first after winning the toss. Punjab team couldn’t accelerate the innings, Iftikhar Tiger 22, Fakhar Abbas 0 and Naseeb Ullah’s 42 balls 32 runs innings didn’t provide the boost. Moeen Aslam stood tall from one end, he made 130 runs off 90 balls and Mohsin Khan 45 runs off 32 balls helped Punjab to score 347 runs all out in 39.4 overs. Muhammad Safdar was the star for Islamabad, he took 4 wickets by conceding only 37 runs. Islamabad chased the target in 34.3 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Muhammad Rashid who was dismissed cheaply the other day, made his presence felt with scintillating 120 runs innings off 60 balls featuring 16 fours and 2 sixes. Mohammad Ayyaz and Safdar supported him well with 38 and 34 runs respectively. At the end, Anees Javed played the cautious Captain’s knock of unbeaten 45 runs to guide his team home with 5.3 overs to spare. Yasir Malik, Zafar Iqbal and Fakhar Abbas shared a wicket a piece. Bahawalpur lift the title of NBP T-20 Blind’s Cricket Trophy 2019
  By Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD (December 29, 2019):-Bahawalpur on Sunday clinched the title of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) T-20 Blind’s Cricket Trophy 2019 third times in a row after threshing Peshawar in the final by 7 wickets at Dring Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur. Hosts Bahawalpur won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sanaullah and Haroon Khan opened the innings for Peshawar. Peshawar made a brisk start and made 66 runs in first 6 overs, Sanaullah played-on a ball which hit on his face. He got out after scoring 57 runs off 37 balls. Haroon Khan got retired hurt after scoring 55 runs. Peshawar scored 197 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.  Shahzaib and Ijaz shared one wicket each. Bahawalpur in reply, chased the target 198 in 17.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Moeen Aslam again shined with the bat and made sparkling unbeaten 126* off 56 balls featuring 11 boundaries and 4 sixes. Rahid Ullah and Mohsin Khan claimed 1 wicket each. Bahawalpur won the final by 7 wickets. Moeen Aslam was judged best players of the final match. Eight (8) teams including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Okara, Gujranwala, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Peshawar and Bahawalpur participated in the event that was played from 25th to 29thDecember at Bahawalpur. Islamabad, AJK, Peshawar and Bahawalpur were the 4 semifinalists. While the final was played between Peshawar and Bahawalpur that won by Bahawalpur.  Shozeb Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur, Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Dawood Mehmood Malik Regional Chief National Bank of Pakistan were the guests and distributed prizes amongst the players.
