Sarah Mehboob and Sara Mansoor win Ladies Double Tennis title

ISLAMABAD (January 29, 2020):-Sarah Mahboob and Sara Mansoor annexed the Ladies Doubles title beating Meheq Khokar and Noor Malik in straight sets 2-0 in the final of the 33rd Federal Cup National Ranking Tennis Championship 2020 at Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue, Islamabad on Wednesday.
A total number of 16 matches were played on Wednesday in the Men’s Singles & Doubles categories despite inclement weather conditions; all the seeded players advance into the 2nd round by winning their respective matches in the first round of Men’s Singles event. Israr Gul from Peshawar struggle hard to win his encounter against upcoming youngster Ahmed Asjad Qureshi in a three sets match. Four matches were stopped due to the rain.

ISLAMABAD (January 27, 2020): Irfanullah, Usman Ijaz, Mian Bilal, Jabir Ali, Jibran-ul-Haq, Emad Uddin, Kamran Khan and Hamid-ul-Haq entered for the Men’s Singles Main Draw after beating their respective opponents in the final round of qualifying matches of 33rd Federal Cup National Ranking Tennis Championships here at S.Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue, Islamabad.
In the ladies singles first semi final, Sarah Mahboob beat Shimza Naz Durab 6-3, 6-0. In the second semi final Sara Mansoor beat Mehaq Khokhar in a well contested two set match 6-0, 7-5, the match lasted 2 hours. The final of Ladies Singles will be played tomorrow at 1:30 PM.
Main Draw of Men’s Singles was taken out by the tournament Referee M.Arif Qureshi in the presence of all the ranked players, the top eight seed of Men’s Singles are Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza, Shahzad Khan, Mudassad Murtaza, Yousaf Khalil, Heera Ashiq, Ahmed Kamil and Mohammad Abid. 5th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Tournament concludes

ISLAMABAD (January 26, 2020):-Top seed Aqeel Khan overcame 2nd seed Muzammil Murtaza 2-0 in the Men’s Singles final of the 5th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Tournament at PTF Tennis Complex on Sunday. The final score-line was 6-3 and 7-6(4).
Salim Saifullah Khan President –PTF graced the occasion as guest of honor along with Hussain Odhwani (Serena Hotels) as chief guest, besides a large number of spectators and tennis lovers witnessed the finals.
Salim Saifullah while addressing appreciated the role of Serena Hotels in promotion of tennis in collaboration with PTF. He also appreciated both the sponsors and the organizers for conducting such an excellent event. He also praised the role of media for promotion of sports in Pakistan and especially game of tennis. Federal Cup National Ranking Tennis Tournament from Saturday at PTF

ISLAMABAD (January 24, 2020):-The 33rd Federal Cup National Ranking Tennis Championships will kick off from Saturday at Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue, Islamabad.
All the top leading players Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza, Mohammad Abid, Heera Ashiq, Shahzad Khan, Mudassar Murtaza, Ahmed Ch, Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Waqas Malik and Ladies players Sarah Mahboob Khan, Sara Mansoor , Mehek Khkokor and Noor Malik will also be seen in action. Five events Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Ladies Singles, Ladies Doubles and Senior Doubles 45 Plus will be played during the championships.
President, Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA), Tariq Mehmood Murtaza earlier chaired the Executive committee meeting and approved the arrangements for holding the 33rd Federal Cup National Ranking Tennis Championships in a befitting manner and for the development and promotions of game of tennis in the country. Ladies event will start from Saturday in order to provide an opportunity to Ladies players to finish their matches before proceeding for New Zealand for participation in Asia Oceania Fed Cup competition.
Men’s Singles qualifying event will be played on Monday 27th January 2020. Mohammad Arif Qureshi, ITF White Badge official will officiate as Referee whereas Mohammad Khalil Chughtai nominated as Tournament Director. Islamabad Tennis Association took the imitative to separate the junior events from the professional categories to encourage the talented junior players in Professional event comfortably.
Capital Smart City will sponsor the tournament. Top 24 players will be accepted into the Main Draw of Men’s Singles as per PTF National Ranking and 8 players will qualify through the draw of qualifying.

ISLAMABAD (January 22, 2020):-As many as 52 matches have been decided in the Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Championships-2020 at the PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad on Wednesday.
It is pertinent to mention that, Serena Hotels are playing an important and pivotal role in the promotion of sports in Pakistan by sponsoring national and international events, especially tennis as part of their sports diplomacy.
A total number of 52 matches were played on the 3rd day in the Men’s singles,Men's doubles, Ladies singles ,Under-18 Singles and Under-14 Singles 1st Round. ISLAMABAD (January 20, 2020):-The 5th Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Championships-2020 commenced at the at PTF Complex, Islamabad on Monday soon after the conclusion of 5th Begum Kuslum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Championships 2020.
A total number of 48 matches were played on the opening day in the Men’s and Under-18 qualifying categories. A large number of players are participating in the mega event from all over Pakistan. The PTF Complex is bustled with the presence of large number and their parents.

Muzammil clinches the Singles title of Begum Kulsum National Tennis Tournament

ISLAMABAD (January 19, 2020):-Muzammil Murtaza thrashed Aqeel Khan in the final of the Men's Singles of the 5th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Tournament-2020 at the PTF Complex, Islamabad on Sunday.
Tarik Hamdy CEO Eighteen graced the occasion as chief guest, besides a large number of diplomats including Dr. Christian Turner (British High Commissioner) and his wife, Istvan Szabo and Wife (Ambassador of Hungry) and diplomatic staff of the Swedish Embassy
The Saifullah family was represented by former Federal Ministers and parliamentarians Humayun Saifullah Khan and Anwer Saifullah Khan, senator Osman Saifullah Khan and his wife, as well as Asad Saifullah Khan.
In the first Men’s singles final, 2nd seed Muzammil Murtaza upset top seed and Pakistan number 1 Aqeel Khan in an exciting and closely fought match, 6-4, 7-5. The sizable crowd enjoyed the high level of tennis exhibited by the two finalists. The match lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes, and was officiated by Hasnain Mehmood.
