PSA Squash Satellite Tournament from November 4 in Karachi
Sports Bulletin ReportKARACHI: The 2nd Texas Chicken Open Squash PSA Satellite Tournament will get underway on November 4, 2023, at Jehangir Khan Squash Complex, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) National Coaching Center Karachi. Also, a national junior fixture will start simultaneously at the same venue including Girls’ Under-15 and Boys’ Under-13.According to an official, the 4-day tournament will be played under the control of the Sindh Squash Association (SSA). Men’s seniors' competition will be pursuing prize money of US$ 1000. The main draw will consist of 32 players, as a wild card will be awarded to one player in each group category.Players are required to forward their entries to Sindh Squash Association secretary@sindhsquash.org by 24th October 2023 including all basic information like Name, Father Name, Email, Date of Birth (DOB), Form-B/CNIC No, Phone No, and Category.All Players are required to present their NADRA Form-B to the organizers to confirm eligibility before being permitted to compete. This has to be done by 3rd November 2023 at the championship office at the venue.

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Defending champion Faisalabad, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar have won their matches on the opening day of the Inter-Division National Basketball Championship Grade A, fans were treated to a series of electrifying matchups at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.The action-packed day featured four intense contests, showcasing the best basketball talent in Pakistan organised by the Federal Basketball Association (FBBA) under the supervision of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF).The first match of day one saw the defending champion Faisalabad division facing off against Karachi division, and it was Faisalabad that emerged victorious with a final score of 50-39, demonstrating their prowess on the court. Mohammad Usman Abbas scored 13 points and Hassan Bhatti scored 10 points from the winning team while Anas Asher scored 11 points for the Karachi division.The excitement continued in the second match as Peshawar clashed with Gujranwala. Peshawar's team displayed their dominance, scoring 80 points against Gujranwala's 63, securing a well-deserved win with the support of Abdul Wahab who scored 37 points. In the third match, Lahore went head to head with Rawalpindi, and it was Lahore that triumphed with a final score of 78-61, impressing the fans with their skillful gameplay.The day concluded with the Islamabad team taking on Hazara, and the contest was a spectacle of basketball finesse. Islamabad outclassed Hazara with a score of 70-54, marking a victorious end to the opening day of this highly anticipated championship. Rizwan Khurshaid scored 21 points for the winning side while Mohammad Atif scored 20 points for Hazara Division. Bilal, Ahtesham, Mazari win titles in Aitchison College Junior Tennis

The boys' U-18 doubles final saw Bilal Asim and Ahtesham, both representing SNGPL, defeating Mohammad Salaar and Kashan Tariq with a commanding score of 8-1. In the girls' U-18 final, Amna Ali Qayum secured her title by beating Lalarukh with a convincing score of 6-1, 6-2. Ahtesham Humayun, also from SNGPL, triumphed in the boys' U-16 final by defeating M Salaar with a score of 6-4, 6-4. In the boys' U-14 final, Amir Mazari from Aitchison College emerged as the victor by defeating Omer Jawad with a score of 6-2, 6-2. The boys' U-14 doubles final witnessed an exciting clash, with Omer Jawad and Hamza Ali Rizwan prevailing over Amir Mazari and Muzamil Bhand with the score being 5-3, 2-4, 10-6. The boys/girls U-12 final showcased a thrilling battle, with Shayan Afridi emerging as the winner by defeating Rashid Ali Bachani with a score of 7-5. In the boys/girls U-12 doubles final, Abdur Rehman and Hajra Suhail secured victory by defeating Ali Bachani and Zayd Zaman with a score of 6-3. In the boys/girls U-10 final, Rashid Ali Bachani claimed the title by beating Mustafa Uzair Rana with a score of 6-4. Mohammad Shuaib Khan from Gymkhana Golf Club, Lahore won the amateur category competitions. President RGC, Lt General Shahid Imtiaz, HI (M) graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and distributed the prizes among the players.As many as 607 golfers from across the country participated in the prestigious golf showpiece in the different categories of competitions. All Pakistan Inter Board Futsal Championship starts in Islamabad

Dr. Ghulam Ali Malah, Executive Director, Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC), inaugurated the 3-days event.Chairman, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi, Mohammad Adnan Khan, Secretary, Inter-Board Coordination Committee, Mohammad Buksh, and others officials including Shamashad Ali, Mohammad Fahmeed, Malik Suhail, Raja Sarwar, and Rana Abid were also present on the occasion. All four quarterfinals will be played on Friday at the same venue.The Sindh A team, composed of young and seasoned players, displayed their skills in the first match by defeating the strong Pakistan Navy side. In a stunning display of prowess, they managed to score a convincing 6-3 victory, earning themselves a place in the quarterfinals. The match saw star players like Haris Nasir, Hamad Ayaz, and Sultan Mahmood contributing significantly, while Abdul Wahab led the team with three goals. A three-day FIBA Referee Workshop commences in Islamabad
Mohammad Azam DarISLAMABAD: To improve the basketball standards and skills of the technical officials of basketball, the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) took some significant steps, as the federation started a FIBA Referee workshop on Thursday aiming for the growth and development of basketball referees here at Pakistan Sports Complex.The Federation of International Basketball Associations (FIBA) qualified referee Instructor, Abdul Karim Shakeb from Bahrain will conduct the 3-day workshop, who was appointed by FIBA Asia. Shakeb's extensive experience and knowledge are expected to be instrumental in enhancing the skills of local referees and officials.Prior to the main event, a National Referee Workshop was conducted at the same venue, the Sports Complex in Islamabad. Over 40 referees participated in this preparatory workshop, which aimed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge for the upcoming FIBA Referee workshop.The National Referee Workshop received guidance and instruction from key figures in the basketball community. The Associate Secretary of the Pakistan Basketball Federation and FIBA Commissioner Ouj E Zahoor played a pivotal role in organizing and conducting the workshop, in collaboration with the National Referees Board.Secretary Referees Board Prof. Siraj Ul Haq Qureshi and members of the board former FIBA referee Yaqoob Qadry and Saadat Jehangir contributed their expertise by conducting training sessions during the National Referee Workshop. Their valuable insights and mentorship are expected to enrich the skills of the referees who will soon partake in the FIBA Referee workshop.This initiative by the Pakistan Basketball Federation not only emphasizes the commitment to improving the quality of officiating in basketball but also aims to strengthen Pakistan's presence on the international basketball stage. The FIBA Referee workshop is poised to be a significant step forward in achieving these objectives, as it equips local referees with the knowledge and skills necessary to officiate international basketball events effectively.
