Abdul Jabbar FaisalISLAMABAD: Sri Lankan duo of golf players, Uchitha Akash Ranasinohi, and M H Chalipha Pushpika have won the International Team Match of the 63rd National Amateur Golf Championship 2024 after exhibiting excellent skills of the game here at the Margallah Green Golf Club (MGGC) on Friday.Uchitha Akash Ranasinohi and M H Chalipha Pushpika were a joint score of 293 while runner-up Pakistan A team that was consisted of Arsalan Shikoh Khan and Nouman Ilyas managed 313 at the end of the day. Pakistan B team remained third represented by Qasim Ali Khan, and Salman Jehangir.Federal Golf Association (PGA) A team, Ralfee Aslam Raja, Mohammad Israr, Mohammad Imran Rana, Omer Ijaz, have won the Inter Association’s Amateure Men’s Match final while the Punjab Golf Association A team got second position.  Inter Association’s Senior Amateure Men’s title was lifted by Punjab Golf Association, as the winning team was comprised of Saradar Murad Khan, Mohammad Asim Tiwina, Tariq Mehmood, Mohammad Nasir Irshad.  

Sports Bulletin ReportISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s golfer Ahmad Baig cuddled to his first international title on the Asian Development Tour, carding a 65 and finishing -7 overall to claim victory in the Lexus Invitational at The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram, Vietnam.He started the day three flights and three shots behind the leaders, reeled off a sizzling string of five birdies to stamp his authority on the round, making the turn in 30. Two more birdies followed and despite a bogey on the last hole, he had done enough to wait in the clubhouse and watch his challengers fade away.This was Ahmed's third consecutive win in a row starting with the Rumanza Open in Multan and the JA Zaman Memorial in Lahore. Despite the wind, which has been a constant factor on all three days of this USD 85,000 ADT tournament, Baig was able to overcome the weather which caused the overnight leaders to struggle.

Abdul Jabbar Faisal RAWALPINDI: Secretary, Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF), Briag (Retd) Sajid Ikram has announced that the 62nd National Amateur and Long Drive Golf Championship would be played from April 27 to 30, 2023 soon after the Holly month of Ramadan at Lahore Golf Club. “We will invite 15 countries to participate in the prestigious international golf showpiece and Jayewardene Trophy will be held taken place at the same venue during the same dates, ‘he added while addressing a press conference at PGF Secretariat Jehlum Road here on Friday. Also, on this occasion, PGF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the title sponsor Smart City. Group Chief Operating Officer, Mohammad Aslam Malik, and Secretary PGF Sajid Ikram inked the contract of MoU with Future Development Holdings (FDH) Private Limited as the title Sponsor. Brig (R) Sajid Ikram said: “It is the endeavor of PGF to promote the game of Golf in the country in the best possible way, every day more and more youngsters are joining in to learn and improve their skills. We have 49 registered golf courses in the country out of which only 24 golf courses are 18/27 holes.” He said we were also ensuring the maximum possible international participation of our golfers. “Our team of two ladies and as many men are currently representing Pakistan in Bangladesh.” Coming to the event, the Championship includes Stroke Play Amateur, Senior & Ladies Championship; Inter Association Men & Senior Championship; International Team Match Men; International Team Match Ladies, and J R Jayewardene Trophy. “We appreciate the support of FDH for sponsoring this World Class event and we assure them that with their support the event will be conducted in the best possible way. Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD: Upcoming female golfer, Aroobal Ali will take part in the 22nd Sarawak Junior International Golf Championship Malaysia. Arooba Ali began her career as a golf player in 2015 at the young age of 14. But only in a short span of one year, she won her first golf tournament in 2016. She ranked among the top players in the tournaments. Arooba Ali said: “This was not an easy journey as I won and lost many times during this time. Finally, success came in 2018 as I became the best lady golfer of the country. My father was the person who stood by me throughout this journey, and he supported me. My family’s help and support transformed my weaknesses into strengths.” Arooba Ali has come a long way from playing national level championships during the early days of her career, to becoming a national player. Arooba, who will go abroad to represent the country at an international championship.

Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-Rimsha Ijaz has won the title of the 5th PGF International Ladies Amateur Golf Championship 2022 after showing impressive performance on the last day of tournament that concluded at Islamabad Golf Club on Sunday. After completing 54 holes game, Rimsha was on top with 225 score. Thailand’s Mana Ssanan claimed second place, as she was just a single score behind from the champion. She earned 226 points. Hamna Amjad from Karachi Golf Club remained at third position with the total score of 239. Parkha Ijaz of Defence Raya (244) and Nada Rizwan Mir of Qatar (254) were on 4th and 5th spot respectively. Dr Asma Shami, Chairperson Ladies Golf, said: “Ladies Golf in Pakistan is in its infancy stage and in a short period of four years, seven ladies championships on PGF Calendar.” She emphasised that the need of the hour is sustainability. The quantity that we have collected has to translate into quality we need to bring in professionalism. The first step towards quality that for the first time we have a lady chief referee to Conduct the Championship. It is a great turning point in the Ladies Golf in Pakistan. Dr Sania, speaking at the occasion to the august gathering, said that it was a moment of joy to see so many young girls taking up competitive sports and to see so many ladies playing championship. she extended her full support in promotion of ladies in sports. Dr Sania spoke about the Ehsas program and how it is positively impacting ladies lives in Pakistan. Later she mingled with the invitees of the prize distribution ceremony. All lady golfers bid adieu to their fellow golfers from out of Islamabad and those who came from Thailand and Qatar – till another event, another game. She complimented the tournament director of Zeenat Ayesha and the championship committee for a commendable job. In the end she thanked the players from Thailand their manager for their participation. Miss Uzma Mir from Qattar praised the Pakistani Lady Golfers and for hosting them and giving them tough competition she added Ladies Golf what does the dynamic leadership of Dr Asma Shami chairperson Ladies Golf has got leaps and bounds. She expressed please surprise the number of lady players that was participating in this prestigious ladies event.

Sports Bulletin Report ISLAMABAD:-The 5th PGF International Ladies’ Golf Championship started on Friday here at Islamabad Golf Club, as the Rimsha Ijaz and Thitikrn Thapasit earned the lead at the end of Day-1 game. Both were at two over par 74 after 18 holes. Thitikrn from Thailand scored three birdies on Hole No 8-10 and 12. Rimsha was cool and played his game consistently to reach on top. She also hit birdies thrice time during her 18 holes game.
