LPL with the Colombo Strikers will be a great experience: Says Babar Azam
Sports Bulletin ReportColombo (Sri Lanka):-World No.1 batter on One Day International, skipper of Pakistan team right-handed Babar Azam will turn out for the Colombo Strikers in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), which will be held in July and August this year 2023.Green Shirts leader, Babar Azam has scored 9201 runs in 260 T20s at an average of 44.02. Babar, who is also one of the first cricketers to join the Harvard Business School's executive education program, along with Pakistan teammate Mohammad Rizwan, recently met up with Colombo Strikers’ owner Sagar Khanna for a candid conversation ahead of the LPL.The player auction for the Lanka Premier League is on 14 June and the Colombo Strikers will hope to sign on some of the most talented players up for grabs. Along with Babar, Matheesha Pathirana, Naseem Shah and Chamika Karunarathne are already included in the squad for the Colombo Strikers. Babar Azam said:“It was great to catch up with Sagar and talk cricket. Sagar is a fantastic person to work with and is quite keen and knowledgeable when it comes to the game of cricket. I hope to have more such conversations and chats with him in the future. The Lanka Premier League with the Colombo Strikers will be a great experience for me and the others I feel with this kind of a management who is always backing the players,.”Sagar Khanna said:“Babar is a superb player and an inspiration to all the youngsters. His batting abilities and captaincy is fantastic and I am very happy that we are working together at the Colombo Strikers. It is always nice to talk cricket with him, and even better when it happens in person,”.

Sports Bulletin ReportColombo (Sri Lanka):-Including, top star cricket Babar Azam, Colombo Strikers credited four cricketers, Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah, Sri Lankan T20 stars Matheesha Pathirana, and Chamika Karunaratne, for the 3rd Season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) this year 2023.According to an official of Colombo Strikers, the 20-year-old Matheesha Pathirana has caught the cricketing world by storm with his performances in T20s in the recent past. The fast bowler has picked up 22 wickets in 20 matches at a spectacular average of 22.36.Meanwhile, the bowling all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne will play a vital role in the Colombo Strikers team. The experienced campaigner has taken 60 wickets and scored 726 runs in 93 T20 matches.The Colombo franchise will certainly receive a lot of attention from cricket fans around the world with Pakistan superstar Babar Azam in their set-up. The top-order batter has amassed a whopping 9201 runs in 260 T20s at a brilliant average of 44.02.Fast bowler Naseem Shah will be looking to lead the bowling attack with Pathirana. The youngster has taken 73 wickets in 76 matches at a magnificent average of 29.75.Sagar Khanna said:"We are absolutely thrilled to have four of the biggest T20 stars as a part of our line-up. Sports Bulletin ReportDharamshala (India):-Wicketkeeper batter, Dhruv Jurel’s a massive six in the 4th ball of the penultimate over said his team Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a victory against Punjab Kings (PK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match, as IPL contests have become well known for entertaining and thrilling finishes.Last night’s clash between Punjab Kings XI and Rajasthan Royals in Dharamshala witnessed a thrilling end to the game also as the prodigious batter Dhruv Jurel hit a phenomenal six on the fourth ball of the 19th over to make sure Rajasthan come away with victory in the high-scoring IPL match.Jurel’s match-winning six was reminiscent of Mahender Singh Dhoni’s tremendous six against Punjab Kings XI at the same venue back in 2010, when the former India Captain’s hit helped Chennai Super Kings emerge victorious in a high-scoring tie.Jurel who has been a JSW athlete since 2022 spoke about what was going through his mind during the last few overs and balls of the game, he said, “I was just concentrating on securing the victory for the team in the final overs. I wanted to be on strike in the 19th over because I was confident in my ability to finish the game. In the last few balls, I was visualizing myself hitting a six and finishing the game which helped me execute that shot at the moment and secure the victory for my team.” A wicket-keeper batter much like Dhoni, Jurel hit the six with a Reebok bat exactly like Dhoni back in 2010. The Agra-born Rajasthan Royals player concluded by saying, “Dhoni in my opinion is the greatest finisher the game of cricket has ever seen, he is a constant source of inspiration for me. Much like me he is a wicketkeeper-batter and to be compared to such a legend of the game fills me with pride. I was also elated about the fact that I was able to replicate him in that moment and finish the game in style with a six.”

Canadian Men’s Tournament Global T20 to start on July 20, 2023
Sports Bulletin ReportBrampton (Canada):- Canadian Men’s T20 Tournament is going to resume after the break of a 3-year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the tournament will be hosted at the Brampton Sports Park from July 20 to August 6, 2023.According to an official, with six franchises participating in the tournament, each team will comprise a total of 16 players from full and associate nations, including two world-renowned players, three Canadian National team players, and three emerging Canadian Cricketers, who will play 25 matches over 18 days cricket showpiece.The first two editions of the Global T20 saw some of the most renowned names from around the world, including Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, David Warner, Steve Smith, Brendon McCullum, and Thisara Perera. Wasim Akram, Brian Lara and Mahela Jayawardene performed the duties of mentors.President Cricket Canada Rashpal Bajwa said:‘We are excited about the return of GT20 Canada. Cricket News: Dwayne Bravo rejoins Knight Riders in CPL
Sports Bulletin ReportPort of Spain (Trinidad):-West Indies all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo has rejoined Trinbago Knight Riders ahead of the 2023 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Bravo returned to the Knight Riders after two seasons with the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, having won the title with them in 2021. Bravo is the leading wicket-taker bowler in T20 history and has more wickets than any other player at the CPL with 124 victims in his 97 matches. Bravo is also the leading wicket-taker man for the Knight Riders with more than 100 wickets for his home franchise.The complete squads for the Republic Bank CPL will be announced during the draft show which will be broadcast at the end June 2023. The CPL tournament will run from 16 August to 24 September this year 2023.

Cricket News: New York Strikers owns Colombo Strikers in LPL

The franchise, owned by Sagar Khanna, has joined Kandy Falcons, Jaffna Kings, Galle Gladiators and Dambulla Aura in the five-team competition. Sagar Khanna said:"We have formed a strong connection with our fans in the US and Abu Dhabi and we cannot wait to do the same with the cricket-crazy people of Colombo. The cricket culture in the city and our brand of cricket will certainly make for a very exciting combination. We are eager to bring the indomitable spirit of the Strikers to the cricket fans in Colombo."
