Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2023: Master Paints qualify for main final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Team Master Paints qualified for the main final while Diamond Paints booked berth in the subsidiary final of the Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2023 sponsored by Al Rehman Developers and Town Planners here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Thursday. Manuel Crespo’s sensational performance guided Team Master Paints to a convincing 9½-3 victory over DS Polo team. This win also helped them qualify for the main final. Manuel Crespo, the hero of the day for Master Paints, played extremely well for his team and contributed with five fantastic goals while Pelagio Balazaldi banged in a brace and Sufi Mohammad Haroon and Agha Musa Ali Khan struck one goal each. For DS Polo, Javier Guerrero thrashed in two goals Bautista Garcia scored one goal. Master Paints started the match with a fabulous field goal to gain 1-0 lead by the end of the first chukker. DS Polo dominated the second chukker with two back-to-back goals to take a slight 2-1 lead. The third chukker saw dominance of Master Paints, as they thrashed in three back-to-back goals to get back a 4-2 lead. DS Polo struck a one goal in the beginning of the fourth and last chukker to reduce the margin to 3-4. This was all that DS Polo could get from the match as Master Paints dominated the remaining match by firing in five fabulous goals to win the encounter by 9½-3 as Master Paints had a half goal handicap advantage.  Earlier in the first match of the day, phenomenal Chulo Corti steered Diamond Pants to a close 10½-8 win over Remounts. Chulo Corti was in sublime form and displayed outstanding mallet and pony work and also smashed in seven superb goals. He was ably assisted by his teammate Nico Roberts, who hammered an impressive hat-trick of the goals. Manuel Sundblad fired in four goals, Jota Chavanne thrashed in two and Imran Shahid and Ahmed Zubair Butt hit one goal each for Remounts.  Both the teams scored two goals each to level the score at 2-2 by the end of the first chukker. Diamond Paints played better polo in the second chukker by hammering a hat-trick of goals against two by Remounts to earn a slight 5-4 lead. Diamond Paints dominated the third chukker by smashing in three goals against one by Remounts to stretch their lead to 8-5. The fourth and last chukker saw Remounts hammering a hat-trick of goals against a brace by Diamond Paint to make it 8-10. Diamond Paints won the match by 10½-8 as they had a half goal handicap advantage. Spectators and families were present on the occasion to watch the exciting polo matches at the Jinnah Polo Fields. JPF President Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R), Secretary Maj Ali Taimur (R) and others were also present on this occasion. Tomorrow (Friday), two important matches will be played.

Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2023: BN Polo, FG Polo triumphant
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: BN Polo and FG Polo emerged victorious on the second day of the Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2023 sponsored by Al Rehman Developers and Town Planners here at the Pakistan Park Cavalry Ground on Wednesday. Hamza Mawaz Khan’s shone in the BN Polo’s majestic 7-2 triumph over Master Paints/Newage Cables in the first match of the day. Hamza was in sublime form and displayed outstanding mallet and pony skills and fired in four fantabulous goals. The remaining contribution came from Tito Ruiz, Roberto Iturrioz Arias and Baber Naseem, who struck one goal each. For Master Paints/Newage Cables, Simon Prada scored both goals.  The match began with a successful conversion of 30-yard penalty by Master Paints/Newage but BN Polo then showed their aggression and class and hammered three back-to-back goals to take a 3-1 lead. They dominated the second chukker as well by adding two more goals in their tally, stretching it to 5-1. BN Polo maintained their supremacy in the third chukker as well and slammed in one goal to make it 6-1 but Master Paints/Newage made their presence felt by firing in a field goal to reduce the margin to 6-2. BN Polo then smashed in a field goal in the fourth and last chukker to win the match by 7-2.  Raul Laplacette excelled in FG Polo’s thrilling 10-8 victory over HN Polo in the second match of the day. Raul Laplacette showed great form and polo skills while converting superb seven goals for FG Polo while Mian Abbas Mukhtar also played well and contributed with two tremendous goals. For HN Polo, which had two goals handicap advantage, Raja Samiullah pumped in three goals while Raja Jalal Arsalan banged in a brace and Raja Mikayial Sami converted one.  FG Polo were off to a flying start as they hammered a hat-trick of goals to gain a 3-0 lead but HN Polo made a comeback by banging in a brace to reduce the deficit to 2-3. FG Polo players shone again in second chukker by firing in four goals against two by HN Polo to stretch their lead to 7-4. FG Polo fully dominated the third chukker by hammering a hat-trick of goals to enhance their lead to 10-4 while HN Polo thrashed in two back-to-back goals to make it 610 before the end of the fourth and last chukker, thus FG Polo winning the encounter by 10-8, as HN Polo had a two-goal handicap advantage.  A good number of spectators including polo players, their families, were present on the occasion to witness and enjoy the enthralling and entertaining encounters. Jinnah Polo Fields President Lt Col Shoaib Aftab (R), Secretary Maj Ali Taimur (R) and others were also present there.

Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2023: DS Polo, Master Paints win openers
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: DS Polo and Master Paints emerged victorious in the opening day matches of the Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2023 sponsored by Al Rehman Developers and Town Planners here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Tuesday.  Bautista Garcia guided DS Polo to a thrilling 8-7½ triumph over Diamond Paints in the first match of the day. DS Polo were 5-7½ down when they made a tremendous comeback in the last one and a half minute by thrashing in three back-to-back goals to snatch victory from Diamond Pants.  Bautista Garcia emerged as the hero of the match with a convincing contribution of five fabulous goals while displaying high-quality polo and mallet skills. He was ably assisted by another top performer of the day Javier Guerrero, who hammered three tremendous goals including two dying moments’ match-winning goals that steered DS Polo to a well-deserving 8-7½ victory. From Diamond Paints, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Chulo Corti fired in four fantastic goals while Nico Roberts hammered a hattrick.  Both the sides started the match well and converted two goals each to finish the first chukker at 2-2. DS Polo played better polo in the second chukker as they slammed in two goals against one goal by Diamond Paints to take a slight 4-3 lead. The third chukker was fully dominated by Diamond Paints as they hammered a hat-trick of goals to gain a 6-4 lead.  DS Polo started the fourth and decisive chukker with an impressive goal to reduce the margin to 6-5 but Diamond Paints struck one more to stretch their lead to 7-5. In the last one and a half minute, DS Polo played outstanding polo and thrashed in three back-to-back goals to win the match by 8-7½, as Diamond Paints also had a half goal handicap advantage.  Manuel Crespo’s heroics helped Master Paints register a close 8½-7 win over Remounts in the second match of the day.  Manuel Crespo, the hero of the day from Master Paints, did magic with mallet and polo pony and pumped in splendid five goals. Pelagio Balazaldi, Agha Musa Ali Khan and Sufi Mohammad Haroon also played well and contributed with one goal each. For team Remounts, the major contribution came from Manuel Sundblad, who slammed in four goals while Jota Chavanne banged in a brace and Imran Shahid converted one goal.  The first chukker saw both the sides scoring two goals each to level the score at 2-2. Master Paints played well in the second chukker by converting two goals against one by Remounts to earn a slight 4-3 lead. Remounts started the highly-charged third chukker with two back-to-back goals to take 5-4 lead but Master Paints then started playing aggressive polo and succeeded in cracking a classic quartet to gain a healthy 8-5 lead.  Remounts, which had a half goal handicap advantage, though dominated the fourth and last chukker by banging in a brace yet they lost the opening day match by a close margin of 7½-8. Century 99 Punjab Cup Polo: FG Polo win historic trophy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: FG Polo team won the historic trophy of the Century 99 Punjab Cup Polo Tournament 2023 after defeating Newage Cables/Master Paints by 6-4 in the main final here at the Lahore Polo Club on Sunday. Directors of Century Ventures Private Limited, Ayaz Lakhani, Kamran Afsil, Wasim Mazhar, Nazia Wasim, President of Lahore Polo Club Umar Sadiq, Secretary of Pakistan Polo Association (PPA) Lt Col Ayaz, former President of Lahore Polo Club Syed Shahid Ali and a large number of people from all walks of life were present on the occasion to witness and enjoy the enthralling final. At the concluding ceremony, the chief guests distributed prizes among the winners while President Lahore Polo Club Umar Sadiq thanked sponsors Century Ventures for sponsoring the historic polo event. Raul Laplacette emerged as hero of the main final from Team FG Polo as he played outstanding polo and exhibited excellent mallet and pony work that helped him contribute with four fantabulous goals. Ramiro Zavaleta also played well and pumped in the remaining two goals. Simon Prada thrashed in three goals and Juan Cruz Greguol converted one for Newage Cables/Master Paints. FG Polo opened their account through field goal by hero of the day Raul Laplacette to take a 1-0 lead, which couldn’t last long as Newage/Master Paints made a good comeback by firing in a field goal to equalize the score at 1-1. FG Polo then changed their game plan and started playing aggressive polo. It worked well as they succeeded in banging in back-to-back goals to earn a healthy 3-1 lead by the end of the first chukker. FG Polo maintained their supremacy in the second chukker as well as they banged in a beautiful brace to further enhance their lead to 5-1. The third chukker saw both the sides scoring one goal each, with FG Polo still enjoying a 6-2 lead. The fourth and last chukker was though fully dominated by Newage/Master Paints as they scored two back-to-back goals yet they lost the final by 4-6. The best playing polo pony Depputiva owned by Abbas Mukhtar and played by Raul Laplacette. The most valuable player of the final award was also earned by Raul Laplacette. John Fisher and Chris Hyde officiated the match and Amirreza Behboudi was the match referee. Before the main final, the subsidiary final was contested between Master Paints and Remounts and after a good competition, Master Paints won the encounter by 7-5. Manuel Crespo did the magic with mallet and polo pony and smashed in all the seven goals for Master Paints. Jota Chavanne hammered a hat-trick of goals for Remounts while Swr Naeem slammed in two goals.

Century 99 Punjab Polo Cup: FG Polo, Newage/MP breeze into main final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: FG Polo team and Newage Cables/Master Paints qualified for the main final of the Century 99 Punjab Cup Polo Tournament after winning their respective semifinals played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Friday.  Phenomenal performance of Raul Laplacette helped FG Polo beat BN Polo team by a narrow margin of 5-4½ in the first semifinal of the historic tournament. Raul Laplacette displayed outstanding polo skills and techniques and thrashed in three tremendous goals while Saqib Khan Khakwani also excelled with a contribution of a beautiful brace. For BN Polo, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Juan Maria Ruiz Guinazu and Roberto Iturrioz Arias thrashed in two goals each.  The first semifinal of the day went neck-and-neck and the slight half-goal lead that FG Polo took in the first chukker, remained intact till the final one, as both the teams kept on launching attacks on each other’s goal and also succeeded in converting goals but when the final bell was rung, FG won the crucial match by a close margin of 5-4½. John Fisher and Chris Hyde officiated the match as field umpires.  Simon Prada shone in Newage Cables/Master Paints’ 5-2 triumph over Diamond Paints in the second semifinal of the day. Simon Prada was in sublime form and did the magic with mallet and polo pony and also contributed with three tremendous goals. His teammates Raja Temur Nadeem and Juan Cruz Greguol converted one goal each. From Team Diamond Paints, both the goals were struck by Ahmed Ali Tiwana.  Diamond Paints started the match by banging in a brace against one goal by Newage/Master Paints to take a 2-1 lead. This was all that Diamond Paints could gain from the match as after that, they couldn’t score a single goal while Master Paints smashed in two goals each in the second and fourth chukkers to win the encounter by 5-2. John Fisher and Chris Hyde supervised the match as field umpires.  In another match of the day, contested between Remounts and HN Polo for the place in the subsidiary final, the former outpaced the latter by 6-3. Manuel Sundblad emerged as hero of the match by hammering an impressive hat-trick of goals while Jota Chavanne banged in a brace and Ahmed Zubair Butt scored one goal. Haider Naseem scored the only goal for Remounts, which had a handicap advantage of two goals. John Fisher and Chris Hyde were the field umpires.  Now, the main final will be played between FG Polo and Newage Cables/Master Paints on Sunday (February 12) at Lahore Polo Club while the subsidiary final will be played between Remounts and Master Paints on the same day and same venue.

Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Master Paints qualified for the subsidiary final of the Century 99 Punjab Cup Polo Tournament after winning an important match of two chukkers played among three teams under the American system here at the Lahore Polo Club on Thursday. Master Paints, DS Polo and Lone Wolves vie against each other in the match played under American system. Master Paints won their first match against DS Polo, which they won by a narrow margin of 3½-3. Manuel Carranza emerged as hero of the match as he contributed with a beautiful brace of goals while Manuel Crespo converted one goal for Master Paints, which had a half goal handicap advantage. Bautista Garcia, Javier Guerrero and Daniyal Sheikh scored one goal each for DS Polo. John Fisher and Chris Hyde supervised the match as field umpires. After that, Master Paints recorded a thrashing victory against Lone Wolves with a huge margin of 7-0 to earn a place in the subsidiary final. Manuel Crespo played a hero’s role in the Master Paints’ victory this time as he fired in four fantastic goals while Manuel Carranza thrashed in two tremendous goals and Agha Musa Ali Khan converted scored one goal. Joh Fisher and Chris Hyder were the field umpires. DS Polo was the other team in the match that registered a lone victory against Lone Wolves by 6-2½. Bautista Garcia was the top scorer from the winning side as he hammered a hat-trick of goals while Javier Guerrero hammered a brace of goals and Daniyal Sheikh converted one goal. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Amirreza Behboudi pumped in one goal each for Lone Wolves. John Fisher and Chris Hyde officiated the match as field umpires. A large number of spectators were present at the Lahore Polo Club to watch the tournament that was organized in collaboration with Century 99. Hero Juan Maria Ruiz did the magic with mallet and pony and contributed with splendid six goals while sensational Raja Mikael Sami slammed in three goals, Roberto Iturrioz Arias struck one goal. For Team HN Polo, which had two goals handicap advantage, veteran Raja Samiullah and Haider Naseem banged in a brace each while Ibrahim Khalil converted one goal. BN Polo dominated the match right from the beginning and fired in four fabulous goals in the first chukker to gain a 4-0 lead. BN Polo maintained their dominance in the second chukker as they added five more goals in their tally against one by HN Polo to stretch their lead to 9-1. The only goal of the third chukker was converted by HN Polo to reduce the margin to 9-2. Century 99 Cup: Newage/Master Paints, Diamond Paints win openers
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Newage Cables/Master Paints and Diamond Paints won the opening day matches of the Century 99 Punjab Polo Cup Tournament that got underway on Tuesday here at the historic Lahore Polo Club. The first day of the first tournament of the high-goal season saw a large number of spectators, families and children watching the enthralling matches in a beautiful weather. Lahore Polo Club President Umar Sadiq, Executive Committee members Agha Murtaza Ali Khan, Shah Qubilai Alam, Saqib Khakwani, Agha Najeeb Raza and polo players were also present on this occasion. Juan Cruz Greguol’s heroics helped Newage Cables/Master Paints outpace Master Paints team by 7-5½ in the first match of the day. Greguol played a great game and scored two goals in the first chukker of the match to give his side a lead that remained intact till the final chukker, thus his side emerging as triumphant. Greguol contributed with three tremendous goals while Simon Prado banged in a beautiful brace and Raja Temur Nadeem and Adnan Jalil Azam converted one goal each. On the other hand, Manuel Carranza also played superb polo and fired in all the five goals for Master Paints, which had a half goal handicap advantage, yet his efforts couldn’t yield fruit for his team.  Newage/Master Paints were off to a flying start as they fired in two imposing goals through Greguol to gain a 2-0 lead in the first chukker. Carranza then thrashed in two back-to-back goals to equalize the score at 2-2 but Raja Temur struck a stunning one to give 3-2 lead Newage/Master Paints just before the end of the second chukker.  A tremendous team work was witnessed in the third chukker when each player of Newage/Master Paints – Adnan Jalil, Simon Prado and Greguol with the help of Raja Temur – fired in four fantastic goals to earn a healthy 7-2 lead. Just before the end of the chukker, Carranza cracked a classic field goal to reduce the margin to 7-3. The fourth and last chukker saw Carranza pumping in two more back-to-back goals to make it 7-5 yet it was too little too late for Master Paints, which lost the match by 5½-7. John Fisher and Chris Hyde were field umpires while Juan Maria Ruiz Guinazu was match referee.   Chulo Corti dazzled in Diamond Paints’ emphatic 9-3½ victory over Lone Wolves in the second match of the opening day. Chulo Corti was impressive with mallet and polo pony and fired in five fantabulous goals. He was ably supported by his teammates Nico Roberts and Ahmed Ali Tiwana, who slammed in two and one goal respectively for Diamond Paints. Amirreza Behboudi, Bilal Haye and Raja Jalal Arsalan converted one goal each for Lone Wolves, which had a half goal handicap advantage.  Diamond Paints started the match with two back-to-back goals to take a 2-0 lead, which was further enhanced in the second chukker, when they added four more goals in their tally to stretch their lead to 6-0. The third chukker saw both the sides scoring one goal each, making it 7-1 while they banged in a brace each in the fourth and last chukker to make it 9-3, thus Diamond Paints emerging as victorious by 9-3½. John Fisher and Chris Hyde were field umpires while Juan Maria Ruiz Guinazu was match referee. Three matches will be played on Wednesday (February 8) afternoon. The first match will be between BN Polo and HN Polo at 1:00 pm, the second encounter will be contested between FG Polo and Remounts at 2:00 pm while the third and last match of the day will take place between Newage Cables/Master Paints and DS Polo at 3:00 pm.

Remington Pharma clinch Allama Iqbal Polo Tournament Trophy
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Remington Pharma won the title of the 3rd Allama Iqbal Polo Tournament sponsored by Lahore Smart City after beating Diamond Paints by 9½-7 in the final played here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Sunday.  Remington Pharma registered an impressive 9½-7 triumph over Diamond Paints in a challenging and exciting final. Phenomenal Hamza Mawaz Khan emerged as hero of the final as he gave a brilliant performance and malleted eight excellent goals for Remington Pharma, which had also a half goal handicap advantage, while the remaining one was beautifully converted by Ahmed Bilal Riaz. Nico Roberts though played outstanding polo and impressed the spectators with beautiful mallet and pony work and also fired in five fabulous goals while his teammates Bilal Hayat Noon and Mir Shoaib Ahmed slammed in one goal each, yet their efforts proved futile and they lost the title clash by 7-9½. John Fisher and Amirreza Behboudi supervised the match as field umpires.  Talking to media after clinching the title, Captain of Remington Pharma Hamza Mawaz Khan said: "The team Remington Pharma played very well in this season and it was because of hard work as well as team work due to which we have been recording title victories one after another. We will work harder and try to lift more titles in the remaining events of this season.” Sharing his views, Basel Faisal Khokhar of Remington Pharma said: "My father Dr. Faisal Khokhar, mother Maryam Faisal Khokhar and the entire family is fully supporting me and it was due to their full support and buck up that I have reached this point. We have played this season well and now won this prestigious tournament as well. Now we are eager to add more titles in our titles tally.” Earlier, FG/Din Polo won the in the subsidiary final by defeating Platinum Homes/Master Paints 9-6½. Remiro Zavellata smashed in superb six goals while Mian Abbas Mukhtar banged in a brace and Shah Shamyl Alam scored one goal. For Platinum Homes/Master Paints, which had a half goal handicap advantage, Amirreza Behboudi cracked a quartet while Agha Musa Ali Khan and Qadeer Ashfaq scored one goal each. John Fisher and Ahmad Khan officiated the match as field umpires.  The chief guest on the occasion was Project Director Lahore Smart City Brig Mohammad Nadeem Aslam (R), who distributed prizes among the winners at the prize distribution ceremony. Allama Iqbal Polo: Remington Pharma, Diamond Paints qualify for final
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE: Remington Pharma and Diamond Paints qualified for the main final of the 3rd Allama Iqbal Polo Tournament 2023 after defeating their respective opponents in the semifinals played here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Friday.  Hamza Mawaz Khan’s heroics helped Remington Pharma outclass Master Paints/Newage Cables by 10-1 in the first semifinal of the day. Hamza Mawaz Khan was in sublime form and played outstanding polo throughout the semifinal as he fired in five fabulous goals while his teammates Ahmad Bilal Riaz and Basel Faisal Khokhar also played out their hearts and converted a beautiful brace each and Ahmad Zubair Butt struck one goal.  Master Paints/Newage Cables couldn’t resist their opponents well, thus conceding huge ten goals against one, scored by Adnan Jalil Azam. Remington Pharma dominated the entire match and kept on scoring in all the chukkers. Master Paints/Newage Cables just made their presence felt in the third chukker, when they converted lone goal of the match, thus Remington Pharma winning the match by a huge margin of 10-1. John Fisher and Amirreza Behboudi supervised the match as field umpires. Nico Roberts shone in Diamond Paints’ impressive 10-6 triumph over SQ Seagold Polo in the second semifinal. Nico Roberts emerged as top scorer from the winning side with superb six goals while another top performer of the side was Mir Shoaib Ahmad, who thrashed in three tremendous goals while Lt Col Omer Minhas (R) converted one goal. Raja Jalal Arslan displayed outstanding mallet and pony skills and fired in four fabulous goals while Omer Asjad Malhi and Shiraz Qureshi scored one goal each for the losing side.  SQ Seagold Polo though started the match well and converted two goals but Diamond Paints made a strong comeback and thrashed in three goals to gain a slight 3-2 lead. Diamond Paints then dominated the second chukker and smashed in five goals against one by SQ Seagold to take a healthy 8-3 lead. They added two more in their tally against one by SQ Seagold to make it 10-4. The only two goals of the fourth and last chukker were converted by SQ Seagold, but they lost the crucial match by 6-10. John Fisher and Amirreza Behboudi officiated the match as field umpires.  On Sunday (February 5), the subsidiary final will be played between FG/Din Polo and Platinum Homes/Master Paints at 1:30 pm while the main final will be played between Remington Pharma and Diamond Paints.
